Drivers First continues Nordic expansion with truck parking opening in Viared, Borås

Drivers First takes over the facility in Viared from August 1, 2026, replacing the former free-of-charge parking with a professionally managed site offering enhanced safety, service, and pre-booking for drivers.

Safer parking and better service

The new management will bring several improvements to the area. The parking facility is being developed according to Drivers First’s concept for secure truck parking, combining safety with improved service for drivers. In addition to a safe and monitored environment for vehicles and cargo, the facility includes modern showers and restrooms, a driver’slounge, Wi-Fi, and complimentary coffee for professional drivers. The facility offers the option to pre-book parking spaces, giving transport companies and drivers better planning conditions and contributing to a more efficient and predictable transport chain.

Borås City welcomes the development and the arrival of a modern, secure truck parking facility with expanded services at Viared.

“This is an important step in strengthening Viared as an attractive logistics and industrial area. With expanded services for drivers that improve both the working environment and daily life, and a safe and well-functioning truck parking facility, we are strengthening a central part of the infrastructure for business,” says Marike Wolter, Head of Business Development, Borås City.

An important investment for Viared

The process has taken place in close dialogue between Borås City, the Viared Business Association, and relevant stakeholders. The parties are in agreement that the solution contributes to the area’s long-term development and competitiveness.

“We view it very positively that Viared is getting a more developed and secure truck parking facility. For our member companies, who depend on well-functioning logistics solutions, this is an important investment in the area’s attractiveness and competitiveness. The possibility of increased security, better service, and pre-booking of spaces creates both peace of mind and efficiency in daily operations,” says Carl Borgemar, Chairman of the Viared Business Association.

Drivers’ needs at the center

“Our ambition is to create a safe, accessible, and well-functioning parking environment where the needs of drivers are at the center. The establishment in Viared is an important step in our work to raise the standard of truck parking facilities in Sweden, which ultimately strengthens the resilience of Swedish supply chains, says Gustav Jacobsson, CEO of Drivers First.

Drivers First operates in several locations across Sweden by developing and running safe, service-oriented parking solutions for heavy traffic. The establishment at Viared is part of the company’s continued expansion in Sweden.

Limited availability during the transition

In connection with the transition to new management, access to the truck parking facility may be limited for a period around August 1, 2026. Borås City and relevant stakeholders urge transport companies and drivers to plan well in advance and allow for potential disruptions. The goal is for the transition to proceed as smoothly as possible and for the new, improved facility to be in full operation shortly.
